Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a pressing issue in modern medicine, characterized by a progressive decline in renal function and the development of systemic metabolic disorders. According to epidemiological studies, the global prevalence of CKD among the adult population is approximately 8–13%. The systemic changes resulting from this pathology significantly impact the organs and tissues of the oral cavity. Patients with CKD frequently present with inflammatory periodontal diseases, salivary gland dysfunction, changes in the oral mucosa, as well as carious and non-carious dental lesions. Therefore, studying the clinical and laboratory features of the oral health status in this patient category is a vital area of research in modern dentistry.
