This article examines the psychological characteristics of memory impairments in stroke patients. Cognitive disorders that arise in the post-stroke period are analyzed with particular emphasis on memory dysfunctions. The study is based on the neuropsychological approach of Alexander Romanovich Luria, who distinguished between modal-specific and modal-nonspecific memory impairments depending on the localization of brain lesions. The paper describes the main types of memory deficits observed in stroke patients, including retrograde and anterograde amnesia, confabulation, anomia, and semantic impairments. Special attention is given to the relationship between memory, speech, and perception processes, particularly in cases of aphasia.
