ENDOTOXIC SHOCK
Abstract
The pathogenesis of endotoxic shock lies in the development of various infections. Most often, gram-positive, gram-negative and anaerobic infections cause it. It can also be caused by other microbes (urinary tract, biliary tract infection, pancreatic necrosis, respiratory tract inflammation, septic abortion, various types of peritonitis).Endotoxic shock is a severe, life-threatening form of septic shock caused by bacterial endotoxins—primarily lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from Gram-negative bacteria. It triggers an uncontrolled, systemic immune response, leading to profound circulatory failure, dangerously low blood pressure, and multiple organ damage.
