Abstract

In this study, the level of social maladaptation in adolescents who are addicted to digital space and the virtual environment and the system of their personal defense mechanisms were diagnosed based on methodological approaches in academic textbooks. The article scientifically substantiates the causal relationship between the level of adolescents' addiction to digital space and the activation of their destructive psychological defense mechanisms and social adaptation crises. Empirical and statistical analyses have proven the primacy of such defense mechanisms as "regression", "projection" and "denial" in adolescents with virtual addiction, and this directly leads to deep social maladaptation. The developed diagnostic criteria will serve as the basis for the formation of targeted correctional programs in the preclinical period.
