Abstract

This extended article provides a thorough scientific analysis of one of the most important areas of histology, cell and tissue regeneration. The cell cycle, mitosis and meiosis processes, apoptosis and necrosis mechanisms, and physiological and pathological tissue regeneration processes are widely covered. Diseases resulting from impaired regeneration processes, fibrotic changes, tumor development, and innovative approaches in modern regenerative medicine are also discussed.

Today, stem cells, gene therapy, and tissue engineering are among the most promising areas of medicine, and this article also analyzes their capabilities and limitations.
