To experimentally investigate the impact of carbon monoxide (household gas) poisoning in the setting of chronic alcoholism on the morphofunctional state of rat testes by assessing histological, morphometric, and biochemical alterations. The study aimed to determine the extent of testicular damage induced by the combined toxic effects of chronic ethanol exposure and carbon monoxide–mediated hypoxia, with particular emphasis on spermatogenesis, Leydig cell activity, oxidative stress, and hormonal status. In addition, the efficacy of Glycyrrhiza glabra extract as a corrective therapeutic agent was evaluated through its ability to restore testicular morphology, improve antioxidant defense mechanisms, reduce lipid peroxidation, and normalize testosterone production. The ultimate goal was to assess the potential of Glycyrrhiza glabra as a protective and restorative phytotherapeutic intervention for reproductive dysfunction associated with combined toxic exposures.
