This article examines effective approaches to developing listening skills in primary school English language classes. Listening comprehension is considered a fundamental component of language learning that contributes to vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation improvement, grammatical development, and oral communication skills. The study discusses the pedagogical and psychological foundations of teaching listening, including active learner participation, gradual progression, contextualized instruction, and motivational support. Various techniques such as predictive listening, listening for specific information, listening for the main idea, interactive games, and the use of digital resources are analyzed. The findings indicate that interactive and multimedia-based learning tools positively influence students’ engagement, listening comprehension, and confidence in English communication. The systematic implementation of these methods significantly enhances learners’ listening competence, overall language proficiency, and communicative abilities in primary education.
