THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON DEVELOPING ENGLISH LANGUAGE SPEAKING SKILLS AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most influential technologies in modern education. In recent years, AI-powered applications have transformed language learning by providing students with personalized learning experiences, instant feedback, and interactive communication opportunities. This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence on developing English language speaking skills among university students. The study explores the advantages, challenges, and effectiveness of AI-based tools in improving pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary acquisition, and communication confidence. The findings indicate that AI technologies significantly enhance students’ speaking performance by creating flexible and engaging learning environments. However, some limitations such as technological dependence and lack of emotional interaction remain challenges. The article concludes that AI can serve as an effective supplementary tool for English language learning in higher education.
