Abstract

Viral stomatitis remains one of the most common inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa in children. In recent years, its clinical course has become more complicated due to the increasing prevalence of intestinal viral infections. These infections significantly affect systemic and local immune responses, leading to severe, prolonged, and recurrent forms of viral stomatitis. The present study investigates the clinical manifestations, severity, and pathogenetic mechanisms of viral stomatitis developing during intestinal viral infections in pediatric patients.
