Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common bacterial infections during pregnancy and represents a significant concern for maternal and fetal health. Physiological and anatomical changes in pregnancy increase susceptibility to urinary infections, which may range from asymptomatic bacteriuria to acute pyelonephritis. If left untreated, UTIs during pregnancy can lead to serious complications such as preterm labor, low birth weight, anemia, and increased perinatal morbidity.
