This study investigates the application of variable frequency drives (VFDs) in the technological equipment of the TC-2 “Kara-Su” boiler house with the aim of improving energy efficiency and reducing electricity consumption. The operating modes of pumps, draft fans, and auxiliary equipment were analyzed, and the technical and economic feasibility of implementing variable-speed electric drives was assessed. The research demonstrates that traditional throttling methods lead to significant energy losses, whereas variable frequency control enables more efficient regulation of technological parameters. Particular attention is paid to the operation of draft control systems, the influence of natural draft on boiler performance, and the optimization of pump and fan operating modes. The obtained results indicate that the implementation of VFD systems can significantly reduce electricity consumption, improve process stability, and enhance the overall energy performance of boiler house facilities.
