Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the physiological effect of intermittent fasting regimens on energy metabolism and key metabolic indicators based on contemporary scientific data. The phenomenon of metabolic switching, cyclical changes in insulin and glucagon secretion, activation of the ketogenesis process, and mechanisms of autophagy and cellular adaptation are examined in detail. The effect of intermittent fasting on body mass, lipid profile, and insulin sensitivity is also discussed.
