This article analyzes the formation trends of neologisms in the terminology of the digital economy. The rapid development of digital technologies, e-commerce, fintech, online banking, electronic payment systems, blockchain platforms, digital marketing, remote work, and artificial intelligence has created a need for new lexical units in modern Uzbek and global economic discourse. Many of these terms enter Uzbek through English as international borrowings, while others are formed through translation, calquing, hybridization, abbreviation, and semantic transformation. The purpose of the study is to identify the main linguistic mechanisms through which digital economy neologisms are formed and adapted in Uzbek economic terminology. Descriptive, semantic, structural, comparative, and contextual methods were used in the research. The results show that digital economy terminology is one of the most dynamic sources of neological renewal. Terms such as “digital platform,” “fintech,” “cashback,” “e-commerce,” “online payment,” “blockchain,” “cryptocurrency,” “startup,” “marketplace,” and “digital banking” are not only technical labels but also indicators of new economic relations and communication practices. The study concludes that the development of digital economy terminology reflects the interaction of globalization, technological innovation, borrowing, and native word-formation resources.
