Metabolic syndrome is one of the most urgent medical and social problems of our time and is characterized by abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and arterial hypertension. The study was conducted on 42 outbred male white rats weighing 80-100 g. The model of metabolic syndrome was reproduced by long-term use of a high-calorie diet enriched with animal fat and fructose. Morphological changes were studied using histological, morphometric, and luminescent histological methods. The results obtained indicate the important role of neuroendocrine mechanisms of the stomach in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome and can serve as a morphological justification for the development of new approaches to the prevention and treatment of obesity and related metabolic disorders.
