The rapid expansion of information and communication technologies has transformed the delivery of medical care, giving rise to telemedicine and a broader ecosystem of digital health tools. This article examines how remote consultations, mobile health applications, wearable monitoring devices, and electronic health record systems influence the accessibility, efficiency, and quality of healthcare services. Drawing on recent scholarly literature, the article identifies the principal barriers to effective implementation, including regulatory fragmentation, data security concerns, unequal digital infrastructure, and clinician-patient trust deficits, while also outlining the opportunities these technologies create for chronic disease management, rural healthcare access, and cost containment. The article concludes that a balanced policy framework combining technical standardization, workforce training, and patient-centered design is essential for telemedicine to fulfill its potential as a driver of healthcare quality improvement.
