Abstract

This thesis presents the bioecological characteristics, phenological development stages, and ecological adaptation indicators of some higher aquatic plants cultivated in artificial water bodies under the conditions of Nukus city. The species Nymphaea marliacea Lat.-Marl., Nymphaea alba L., Nuphar lutea (L.) Sm., and Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. were selected as the objects of the study. The research was carried out during 2023–2025 in artificial water bodies located on the territory of the Karakalpak Scientific Research Institute of Natural Sciences, in the water bodies of the F.N. Rusanov Tashkent Botanical Garden, and in an artificial water reservoir in the Koklamzor mahalla of Yangiyul district, Tashkent region.

Phenological observations were conducted using the Rabotnov–Beydeman phenological method and the international BBCH phenological scale. The results showed that the studied species entered both vegetative and generative development stages in artificial water bodies and demonstrated different levels of adaptation to temperature, aquatic environment, pH, mineralization, and light conditions. The obtained results provide a scientific basis for the use of these species in landscaping water bodies, as biofilters, and in phytoremediation systems under the conditions of the Aral Sea region.
