Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is one of the most pressing problems of modern medicine, characterized by abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension and impaired carbohydrate metabolism. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to studying the role of the stomach as an important endocrine organ involved in the regulation of energy metabolism. The study was performed on 42 outbred male white rats aged 8 weeks and weighing 80-100 g. The animals were kept in standard vivarium conditions with free access to water and feed. The experimental metabolic syndrome is accompanied by pronounced morphological changes in the neuroendocrine apparatus of the gastric fundus. An increase in the density of adrenergic and cholinergic nerve fibers, hyperplasia of endocrine cells and an increase in their morphofunctional relationships were found.
