The semantic and pragmatic features of Young Adult (YA) literature from the twenty-first century are examined in this study. YA fiction has been a prominent literary genre in recent decades, tackling difficult subjects including identity formation, social inequity, psychological growth, and the passage from adolescent to adulthood. Although YA literature's thematic aspects have received a lot of attention, its language and communication aspects have received less attention. The current study examines how semantic structures and pragmatic discourse techniques are used to create and interpret meaning in young adult fiction. The study uses a multidisciplinary qualitative methodology that incorporates techniques from pragmatic stylistics, discourse analysis, and literary linguistics. Lexical patterns, symbolism, and thematic contrasts pertaining to identity, resistance, and human transformation are the main topics of semantic analysis. Within the communicative framework of literary texts, pragmatic analysis looks at narrative voice, conversational speech, and reader involvement. The results show that semantic networks and pragmatic techniques are used in modern YA literature to improve narrative authenticity and reader identification with teenage protagonists. In addition, YA stories often deal with ideological concerns about authority, power, and societal change. The study concludes that the interaction between semantic meaning and pragmatic communication plays a crucial role in shaping the cultural and educational significance of YA literature in contemporary society.
