Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of phraseological units in the German and Uzbek languages. The study examines the semantic, structural, and cultural characteristics of phraseological expressions and identifies their similarities and differences. Particular attention is paid to the role of phraseological units in reflecting national traditions, customs, and worldviews. The article also discusses translation challenges arising from culture-specific idioms and emphasizes the importance of phraseological competence in foreign language learning, intercultural communication, and translation studies. The findings demonstrate that although German and Uzbek belong to different language families, they share numerous phraseological units expressing universal human values while preserving their own cultural identity.
