Abstract

This article examines the artistic and aesthetic functions of the image of the mother in expressing the motif of longing in Uzbek poetry. The study analyzes the relationship between the image of the mother and the lyrical hero's emotional experiences, separation, memory, national identity, and spiritual values from the perspective of modern literary criticism. Using comparative-typological, poetic, and interpretative methods, the article explores the metaphorical, symbolic, and psychological representations of the mother in the poetry of Zulfiya, Usmon Azim, Rauf Parfi, and Khurshid Davron. The findings demonstrate that the image of the mother in Uzbek poetry is not merely a reflection of personal emotions but also serves as a poetic embodiment of collective memory, national consciousness, and universal human values.
