Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of riddles based on natural phenomena in Uzbek and English languages. The study focuses on identifying linguistic, semantic, and linguocultural features of riddles that involve elements such as the sun, moon, wind, rain, and snow. By comparing structural, stylistic, and semantic characteristics, the research highlights both similarities and differences in how natural phenomena are conceptualized in the two languages. The findings reveal that Uzbek riddles are more metaphorical and culturally rich, while English riddles tend to be concise and logically structured.
