Abstract

Despite the efficacy of transurethral resection (TURBT), the recurrence rate of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) remains high (50–70%). Standard criteria, such as tumor stage and grade, do not always accurately reflect the biological potential of the tumor. This necessitates the search for additional molecular predictors and the evaluation of the intact urothelium state in the surgical intervention zone to optimize preventive therapy.
