THE ROLE OF MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract

This article examines the evolving role of modern technologies in English language teaching, highlighting both opportunities and challenges presented by their integration in classroom settings. The paper analyzes how digital resources, online platforms, and interactive applications transform traditional language instruction, enhance student engagement, promote individualization, and foster communicative competence. Methodological insights and recent research findings are reviewed to investigate the impact of technology on teachers’ practices and learners’ outcomes. Emphasis is placed on blended learning, the importance of teacher digital literacy, and the need for pedagogically grounded technology use to achieve sustainable learning. The article offers practical recommendations for teachers and discusses prospects for English teaching in the digital era.
