Motivation is widely recognized as one of the most influential factors in foreign language learning. Students who are highly motivated tend to participate more actively in classroom activities, devote more time to language practice, and demonstrate greater persistence when facing learning difficulties. In the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), motivation plays a crucial role in determining learners’ success and overall language achievement. This paper examines the significance of student motivation in EFL learning, explores the major types of motivation, and discusses the factors that influence learners’ willingness to study English. The study also highlights practical strategies that teachers can employ to foster and sustain motivation among language learners. The findings suggest that a supportive learning environment, relevant learning materials, and effective teaching methods significantly contribute to students’ motivation and academic performance.
