Abstract

This article examines the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of modern journalism. As digital technologies continue to evolve at an unprecedented pace, AI-driven tools are fundamentally reshaping how news is gathered, produced, distributed, and consumed. This study analyzes key AI applications in journalism, including automated content generation, real-time fact-checking, personalized news delivery, predictive analytics, and deep fake detection. The article further explores the ethical challenges posed by AI integration, such as algorithmic bias, misinformation, threats to journalistic employment, and concerns regarding editorial autonomy. Drawing on current case studies from global media organizations, this research demonstrates that while AI offers significant efficiency and scalability benefits, its responsible deployment requires robust ethical frameworks, regulatory oversight, and ongoing collaboration between technologists and media professionals. The findings suggest that the future of journalism lies in a hybrid model where human creativity and judgment are augmented — not replaced — by intelligent systems.
