Abstract

This paper provides a sociological and structural analysis of Dostoevsky's "White Nights," focusing on the theme of urban alienation. It investigates how the social environment of St. Petersburg shapes the interactions between the unnamed narrator and Nastenka. The study highlights the author's unique narrative style and the symbolic use of the city's atmosphere to reflect social invisibility. The research concludes that the novella serves as a critique of social barriers, emphasizing the spiritual significance of temporary emotional bonds in a fragmented society.
