MAHMUD TOIR AND MODERN UZBEK LITERATURE

Abstract

This article delves into the literary contributions of Mahmud Toir and his relationship to the development of modern Uzbek literature. Through a comprehensive analysis of his poetry, prose, and philosophical outlook, the article highlights Toir’s role in shaping a new vision and aesthetic in Uzbek literary tradition. Furthermore, the text contextualizes his creative legacy within broader sociocultural and historical transformations, assessing his influence on subsequent generations of writers and intellectuals. Drawing upon primary texts, literary criticism, and scholarly sources, the study examines the interplay of national identity, spirituality, modernity, and tradition in Toir’s creative works.
