U.S. DIGITAL DIPLOMACY IN CENTRAL ASIA: A CASE STUDY OF UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

This article examines U.S. digital diplomacy in Central Asia, focusing on Uzbekistan as a case study. It analyzes key areas such as governance, cybersecurity, education, and technology. The study highlights both the positive impacts on digital development and institutional reform, as well as potential challenges related to geopolitical competition, cyber sovereignty, and ideological influence. It argues that digital diplomacy has become a key instrument of U.S. foreign policy in the region.
The research also shows how digital cooperation shapes Uzbekistan’s integration into the global digital economy. Overall, the study emphasizes the dual nature of digital diplomacy as both a development tool and a strategic instrument.
