Abstract

This article explores the scientific and educational activities of the Jadids of Turkestan at the beginning of the 20th century and analyzes their significance for national modernization. Through examining the ideas, reforms, and socio-political efforts of leading Jadid figures, the article describes how the Jadid movement laid the groundwork for an intellectual and cultural revival across Central Asia. The study considers the Jadids as innovators who brought forth new concepts of schooling, literature, journalism, and national identity, highlighting the enduring legacy of their work in the regional history of enlightenment.
