Abstract

The present article investigates the linguocultural peculiarities of phytonymic units in the English and Uzbek languages. The study explores the semantic, symbolic, ethnolinguistic, and cultural characteristics of plant names and their role in reflecting national identity, cultural values, traditions, and worldviews. The research is based on comparative linguocultural analysis of phytonyms found in literary works, phraseological units, proverbs, folklore texts, and dictionaries. The findings indicate that phytonymic units serve not only as lexical nominations but also as important carriers of cultural information and national mentality.
