Abstract

The goal of this work is to combine calcium chloride and acrylamide to create monomeric metal-containing compounds, then analyze their structure. Two steps were involved in the synthesis of this monomer: in the first, acrylamide and calcium chloride react to form dichlorotetrakis(O-acrylamide) calcium(II) [Ca(O-OC(NH2)CH=CH2)4Cl2] (I); in the second, AgNO3 and acrylamide react to form [Ca(O-OC(NH2)CH=CH2)4] - tetrakis(O-acrylamide) calcium(II).
