MODERN APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF SCLEROPOLYCYSTIC OVARIAN DISEASE: PHARMACOLOGICAL THERAPY AND LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION

Abstract

Scleropolycystic ovarian disease (SPOD), commonly referred to as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), is a complex endocrine-metabolic disorder affecting women of reproductive age. It is characterized by ovulatory dysfunction, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovarian morphology. The multifactorial etiology of the disease necessitates an integrated treatment strategy combining pharmacological interventions with lifestyle modification. This article reviews modern therapeutic approaches to SPOD, focusing on drug therapy and non-pharmacological measures, and evaluates their effectiveness in improving clinical, metabolic, and reproductive outcomes.
