This thesis examines the importance of traditional medicine in the prevention of vitiligo. Vitiligo is a widely prevalent dermatological disorder with a complex pathogenesis and no definitive treatment currently available. The paper analyzes the autoimmune nature of vitiligo and highlights the significant role of oxidative stress and free radicals in its development, based on scientific literature.
Particular attention is given to medicinal plants commonly used in folk medicine, especially St. John’s wort and garlic. The study emphasizes their rich composition, including copper, zinc, B-group vitamins, and strong antioxidant properties, which may contribute to the prevention and supportive treatment of vitiligo. The author suggests that incorporating specific daily doses of these plant extracts into the diet may help reduce the risk and progression of the disease.
