Abstract

The family as an object of study in psychological science is characterized by the presence of diverse approaches, the diversity of concepts used, the ambiguity, and the excessive breadth of coverage of marital relations. Historically, marriage, as a relationship between a man and a woman, has taken various forms at different times. Even within a single time period, within a single historical era, marriage as such can be quite variable. The literature identifies various marriage profiles and types of marital relationships, and classifications of marital relationships are provided based on various criteria.
