The integration of digital technologies into foreign language education has significantly transformed the organization of teaching and learning processes. In English language teaching, digital materials provide broad opportunities for developing interactive, learner-centered, and communicative exercise systems that enhance students’ language competence and motivation. Modern educational technologies enable teachers to create multimedia-based tasks that support listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through authentic and engaging learning experiences. This article examines the concept, structure, and pedagogical significance of exercise systems based on digital materials in English language teaching. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations of digital language learning and explores different types of digital exercises, including interactive, multimedia, collaborative, gamified, and adaptive tasks. Particular attention is given to the methodological principles of designing effective digital exercises according to learners’ proficiency levels, communicative objectives, and cognitive needs. The article also discusses the role of online platforms, mobile applications, virtual communication tools, and multimedia resources in improving language acquisition and learner autonomy. Furthermore, the paper identifies challenges related to technological accessibility, information overload, and teachers’ digital competence. The findings indicate that exercise systems based on digital materials contribute significantly to communicative competence, independent learning, critical thinking, and active learner participation. Effective implementation of digital exercise systems requires methodological planning, technological support, and continuous professional development for educators.
