Abstract

This article delves into the educational and pedagogical views of Abdulla Avloni, a prominent Uzbek intellectual, enlightener, and reformer, who played a crucial role in the development of modern Uzbek national thought. Special attention is devoted to an analysis of Avloni’s ideas on the purpose and methods of education, the balance between traditional and modern values, moral and ethical upbringing, and the importance of spiritual, cultural, and scientific knowledge in the formation of a person’s character. Through an exploration of his main works and social activities, the article presents Avloni’s conception of the teacher’s mission, the significance of mother tongue instruction, the role of literature and arts, as well as the creation of a harmonious society through education. The enduring relevance of Avloni’s ideas in the context of contemporary global educational trends and Uzbekistan’s nation-building are also highlighted.
