ANTHROPOCENTRIC TEACHING AND ITS INFLUENCE ON LEARNER AUTONOMY IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

Anthropocentric teaching has emerged as an important learner-centered approach that emphasizes the needs, experiences, and individual characteristics of students. In higher education, this approach has gained increasing attention due to its potential to promote learner autonomy and active participation. This article explores the relationship between anthropocentric teaching and learner autonomy in language education. Drawing on contemporary educational theories and language learning research, the paper argues that human-centered instructional practices encourage students to take responsibility for their learning, develop independent learning skills, and become more engaged in the educational process. The study concludes that anthropocentric teaching can significantly contribute to the development of autonomous learners in higher education settings.
