Abstract

The rapid development of digital technologies and social media has significantly influenced language use and communication practices worldwide. Proverbs, traditionally regarded as stable carriers of cultural wisdom, have also undergone transformation in online environments. This article explores the digital transformation of proverbs in English and Uzbek social media, examining how traditional paremiological units are adapted, modified, and reinterpreted in digital discourse. The study analyzes the linguistic and cultural mechanisms behind these changes and highlights the role of social media in preserving, reshaping, and popularizing proverbial expressions. The findings reveal that while traditional meanings are often maintained, digital users frequently modernize proverbs to reflect contemporary realities, technological advancements, and online culture.
