UZBEKISTAN'S COOPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS: MAIN AREAS AND STAGES

Abstract

This article analyzes the stages and main directions of the development of cooperation relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and international organizations since its independence. The author distinguishes three stages of Uzbekistan's foreign policy (1991–2000, 2000–2016, 2016 to the present), and at each stage highlights the specific features, priority areas and practical results of cooperation with the United Nations (UN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Turkic States Organization (TSO), the CIS, the European Union and other influential structures. The article also pays special attention to issues such as qualitatively renewing participation in international organizations, protecting national interests, developing regional security and economic integration based on the principles of openness, pragmatism and activity of the foreign policy of the New Uzbekistan.
