THE CONCEPT OF THE MECHANISM OF CRIME: A FORENSIC-THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

This article analyzes the concept of the mechanism of crime, one of the important theoretical categories of forensic science, on the basis of the scientific views of Uzbek, Russian, and foreign forensic scholars. The mechanism of crime is examined as a process that manifests itself through the interrelated elements of crime preparation, commission, the formation and concealment of traces, as well as the offender, the victim, place, time, means, and environmental factors. The article reveals the relationship between the mechanism of crime and such forensic categories as the forensic characteristics of crimes, the method of committing a crime, the mechanism of trace formation, investigative versions, crime scene examination, and the evaluation of evidence.
