This article investigates the role of visual thinking and spatial reasoning in geometry education, and examines effective pedagogical strategies for developing these cognitive skills in students. Drawing on van Hiele’s levels of geometric thinking, Mayer’s multimedia learning theory, and contemporary research in cognitive science, the study analyzes how visualization tools, hands-on manipulatives, and digital geometry software enhance students’ conceptual understanding. Practical findings from classroom implementation are presented alongside evidence-based recommendations for mathematics teachers seeking to improve geometry instruction through visually rich, cognitively engaging approaches.
