This article examines polyfunctional units in the English and Uzbek languages. Polyfunctional units are linguistic elements that perform several grammatical, semantic, or communicative functions depending on context. Such units play an important role in language economy, flexibility, and stylistic diversity. The study compares the structural and functional characteristics of polyfunctional words in English and Uzbek, identifies similarities and differences, and analyzes their usage in speech and writing. The research demonstrates that polyfunctionality is a universal linguistic phenomenon, though its realization differs according to the grammatical systems of the two languages.
