INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF TOTAL POLYPHENOLS ISOLATED FROM PLANTAGO LANCEOLATA L. ON THE DYNAMICS OF BLOOD INSULIN AND C-PEPTIDE LEVELS IN ALLOXAN-INDUCED DIABETES
Abstract
114 male white rats with an initial weight of 170–220 g were taken for the research, 10 of which formed the intact group. One day before inducing the diabetes model, taking into account that the diabetogenic effect of alloxan is evident in the fasting state, the animals were starved and given 4% ascorbic acid (vitamin C) solution instead of water. This reduces animal mortality by protecting animals from dying when primary hyperglycemia occurs.
