Abstract

In the era of globalization, foreign language education aims not only to develop linguistic competence but also to foster intercultural communicative competence (ICC). Realia, which represent culture-specific words and expressions reflecting the unique characteristics of a nation, play a significant role in achieving this goal. This paper examines the contribution of realia to the development of intercultural communicative competence in foreign language education. The study highlights the importance of integrating cultural elements into language teaching and discusses effective strategies for using realia in the classroom. The findings demonstrate that realia enhance learners' cultural awareness, communicative skills, and understanding of diverse cultural perspectives.
