Abstract

Proverbs are an essential part of linguistic and cultural heritage, reflecting collective wisdom, cultural values, and social experience. Traditional proverb studies have mainly relied on manually collected data, focusing on semantic and cultural aspects. With the development of corpus linguistics, researchers can now analyze large collections of authentic language data more systematically. Corpus technologies facilitate the compilation, annotation, translation, and comparative analysis of proverbs across languages. This paper examines the role of corpus technologies in proverb research and highlights their contribution to modern paremiological and translation studies.
