Abstract

This article provides a comparative analysis of the linguistic and cultural characteristics of aphorisms in English and Uzbek. The structural, semantic and stylistic aspects of aphorisms are highlighted on the basis of examples, and their role in reflecting national mentality and culture in both languages ​​is determined. The results of the study show that English aphorisms are oriented towards conciseness and logic, while Uzbek aphorisms are oriented towards morality and imagery.
