Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common micronutrient deficiency and the leading cause of anemia in children worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), anemia affects approximately 40% of children aged 6–59 months, with iron deficiency accounting for nearly half of all cases. IDA impairs physical growth, cognitive development, immune function, and school performance, making it a significant global public health challenge.
