Abstract

Thyroid diseases are one of the most pressing problems in endocrinology and, according to the World Health Organization, rank second among endocrine diseases after diabetes mellitus. Various thyroid pathologies occur in 10–30% of the world's population. If thyroid dysfunction is not detected in time, it can lead to severe complications due to the effects of thyroid hormones on all tissues and cells.[1] In recent years, there has been an increase in cases of hypothyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, and nodular goiter, especially among women. Modern research indicates the prevalence of iodine-deficiency-associated endemic goiter, nodular goiter, hypothyroidism, and autoimmune thyroiditis among the population of Uzbekistan[2].According to 2025 data, 90% of patients with thyroid cancer were women, with the highest figure observed in Tashkent and the Tashkent region[3].
