This thesis reviews current surgical approaches for anterior and posterior shoulder instability. Arthroscopic stabilization shows excellent functional outcomes with redislocation rates of 3-18%, varying by patient factors and techniques. Modern surgery involves thorough evaluation of bone loss, soft tissue damage, and patient-specific considerations. Advanced imaging like 3D CT and MR arthrography improves preoperative planning. Arthroscopic capsulolabral repair is the preferred method, while open surgery is reserved for complex cases with significant bone loss or revisions.
