Nosocomial infections constitute a critical driver of antimicrobial resistance emergence through selective pressure within healthcare environments where antibiotic exposure intensity reaches maximum levels. This thesis examines the mechanistic relationship between hospital-acquired infections and resistance propagation, analyzes surveillance data demonstrating escalating resistance rates in common nosocomial pathogens, and evaluates evidence-based control strategies including antimicrobial stewardship programs, infection prevention protocols, and diagnostic innovations that enable targeted therapy.
